Landore 0 Cimla 3
After having their games postponed for the past 2 weeks the girls visited Landore on a bitterly cold morning and came away with a well deserved 3-0 win. Right from the kick off we totally dominated and almost went ahead with a long range effort from Holly Jarvis that struck the bottom of the post. However, despite being camped in the Landore half it took us until almost half-time before we took the lead when Sophia Rees played an excellent ball from midfield which sent Holly Jarvis clear and Holly finished confidently past the Landore keeper giving a half-time score of 1-0. So great was our dominance that our keeper Bethany Harvey did not touch the ball at all.
Our dominance continued after the break and half-way through the second half Charlotte Smith who had an excellent game attacked down the right wing and played the ball into Hayley Needs. Hayley then played and excellent ball into Holly Jarvis and Holly smashed it into the top corner to make it 2-0. Towards the end of the game Holly added a third to become the first girl from Cimla to score a hat-trick. This was an excellent performance and Landore did not get a shot on goal in the entire game largely due to us controlling the midfield where Jessica Cooper gave 100% as usual and Chelsey Harris had another fine game. Also our defence consisting of Lucia O’Shea, Georgia Davies and Rhiannon Edwards tackled well to stop any Landore attacks.
This was our fourth win in the last five games and the girls can now look forward to the rest of the season with confidence. Well done.
