Match-day Squad: Calim Bowen, Dafydd Davies, Owen Evans, Luciana Linciano, Steffan Lupton, Toby Oliver, Morgan Pemberton, Luke Phillips, Matthew Phipps, Sam Rowe, Cameron Underwood.
The pressure was on for the Cimla boys this week as their away win last week produced some hope that they could improve their home record. The morning was quite cold and blustery but this did not deter the team who settled into a good shape from the start of play, resulting in some early half chances for both Morgan and Steffan. Toby had taken up the goalkeeping duties for the first period and Cimla continued to build pressure as substitutions were made which saw Sam involved in some good defending. Luke was involved in breaking up a Rhos attack, and the counter from Cimla saw Cameron put through on goal who was to see his initial effort well saved by the away keeper who was in excellent form, however the ball broke loose to be tucked home by Cameron. A spell of end -to-end play followed which saw good work from the Rhos keeper deny Cimla several times. Dafydd was involved heavily and showed good energy in getting about the park. Despite the best efforts of both sides to add to the scoring it remained 1-0 at half time.
Tactical changes at half time saw Luciana move into goal and she needed to make a smart save at the feet of a Rhos attacker at the start of the second half. Then a well defended corner by Cimla lead to a quick break which saw Steffan shoot just wide. It looked as though Cimla may be left to rue missed chances as Rhos produced a well struck equalizer from a Cimla clearance, which found the top of the net. Cimla however were not prepared to give up and Matthew sowed his usual determination to give nothing further away to the opposition. Then a weaving run from Steffan saw him cut in field and strike a good shot to beat the Rhos keeper to return the advantage to Cimla. This gave Cimla renewed impetus and a resulting corner from Calim was unlucky not to be forced over the line as it appeared to almost stick at the near post. Then as Rhos mounted an attack some excellent battling in defence from Owen, who refused to lose the ball to the opposition saw him feed a pass through to Cameron who fired home neatly to complete the scoring at 3-1.
