Under 10's Match Report

Cimla Rovers were fortunate to get away from Bryncoch Yellows with only a 1-0 loss as they used up a season's worth of luck at Wauncierch. The boy's were off the pace for much of the game, guilty of ball watching while leaving unmarked Bryncoch players enough space to drive a small cargo ship through to the Cimla goal. Bryncoch on the other hand played a solid, no nonsense defensive pattern that stopped any hint of a Cimla attack before it could build momentum. The home side seemed to be getting a shot on target every time they had the ball, but found Man of the Match Ben Stevens in goal for Cimla was in no mood to make it easy for them. He was in superb form throughout the game and demonstrated his full range of saves to deny Bryncoch time and time again. In the second half with the game looking like 0-0 an attack down the right hand flank saw Ben finally beaten, as a Bryncoch player out wide fooled the young keeper into thinking he was going to cross, then fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. Cimla rode their luck and have to thank Ben for keeping the score respectable, a lot of work is needed on marking and tracking runners from deep.

Final Score

Bryncoch Yellows 1 Cimla Rovers 0
