Following their excellent efforts on the road in recent weeks, the Cimla team were keen to get their home form up and running. They started brightly, and early Cimla pressure saw them force a couple of corners which they could not convert into an early lead. Then, a break out by the Away side saw Owen in goals make a smart save. This signaled some good attacking play from Resolven who put Cimla under a spell of pressure through a succession of free kicks and corners, which the Cimla defence struggled to clear. However a fast break out of defence involving some neat interchange between Calim and Steffan resulted in Calim firing a shot on goal which was to open up a 1-0 lead for the Home side. This goal was to help the Cimla side settle into an excellent pattern of play which saw them look far more solid in defence, with Dafydd and Luke both making some useful contributions, and the midfield passing also became far more assured. As a result Cimla began to create more chances, with Toby, Steffan and Morgan all being unlucky not to increase the lead. Then following some excellent play from a Cimla throw-in, Steffan fired an excellent ball in towards the Resolven goal which saw Cameron finish expertly with a diving header. The whistle signaled the end of the first period with the home side holding a 2-0 lead.

Tactical changes at half time saw Owen released from the Cimla goal to take up a striking role as Toby took over the goal keeping duties. Early in the second half this was to pay dividends as a superb long ball out of defence from Calim found Cameron in space, whose neat footwork and pass into the goal set up a chance for Owen to finish from only inches out. This was followed quickly by a goal from Steffan to take the score to 4-0. Once again the Resolven side showed good spirit as they replied with some good attacking play of their own and James , Matthew , and Luchiana were all involved in breaking some promising attacks. One super break out of defence saw Calim take on almost half the Resolven side to set up a chance for Morgan which went narrowly wide. As Cimla finished strongly Sam had increasing opportunities on the ball in the middle of the park. The determination of the Cimla side to play to the final whistle was again rewarded, as late in the game a goal bound effort from Morgan was turned in by Cameron from close-in to complete the scoring and give the Cimla boys their first Home win of the season. They congratulated the Resolven team for their contribution to a good game, with the customary handshakes at the final whistle. The Cimla team will now look forward with confidence to another away trip next week when they visit Saron.
