Bryn Rovers 0--- Cimla United 8

C. Underwood (4)

O. Evans (2)

S. Lupton (2)

Match-day Squad: Calim Bowen, Dafydd Davies, James Edwards, Owen Evans, Luciana Linciano, Steffan Lupton, Morgan Pemberton, Luke Phillips, Matthew Phipps, Sam Rowe, Cameron Underwood, Ben Wyatt.

An evenly contested opening saw some good battling from both teams. An early shot on goal from the home side was well saved by Cameron who took up the goal-keeping duties for the first half. This attack was well countered by Cimla when a breakout from Steffan was well saved by the Bryn goalkeeper. Further opportunities came to Luciana and Morgan but these could not be converted. A Cimla corner that resulted from some good pressure was passed by Luciana to Steffan who fired home to open the scoring. A further corner from Owen saw Calim shoot just wide from distance, after taking up a good position. Dafydd was unlucky not to extend the Cimla lead when he was fed in by Owen, following a long clearance from the Cimla keeper. The lead was extended when the Bryn keeper parried a powerful shot from Owen which he was unlucky to see sneak inside the post. Bryn were keen to attack whenever they could and a breakout was well foiled following some excellent battling from Matthew who was being solidly assisted in defence at this stage by Ben and Luke.

The second half saw Morgan take up the goalkeeping duties for Cimla. Quickly following the restart, a thundering effort from Owen made it 3-0. This gave Cimla real confidence as they went on the attack. The Bryn keeper who was being kept very busy made an excellent save to deny Steffan, but he was soon to make amends as he made it 4-0. Cameron then added to Cimla’s delight as he scored twice in quick succession to make it 6-0. He was to be denied his hat-trick by another fine stop from the home goalkeeper. However, the hat-trick was to follow when a super save from the home keeper, off a strong shot from Owen, fell at the feet of Cameron who finished from close range. The score moved to 8-0 when a clearance from the Bryn defence found Cameron who fired home from distance.

With Cimla enjoying good possession in the middle of the park, Sam and Luke became increasingly involved, and then James, who had been a rock in defence was pressed forward in an attempt to add to the scoring. A further attacking ploy from the Cimla coaches saw Matthew, Luciana and Dafydd all have an opportunity to add to the scoring, but they were defeated by the final whistle which was greeted by handshakes all round by the players.
