Under 10's Match Report
Utd made the long trip to Saron this week and came away with a win. The passing of both teams was very crisp and made a very enjoyable game to watch. Cimla started off very well with Rhys Costain and Adam Bray making some excellent runs up the wings. The first goal came after about seven mins with some lovely passing between nearly all of the Cimla players with the ball ending up at Dylan Jones jnr,s feet 10yrds from goals he fetched the ball under control took one step and placed the ball expertly in the bottom left hand corner of the goal. Saron fought straight back and if it wasn,t for some excellent defensive work from Daniel Smith & Josh Hutchinson they could have equalised earlier than they did. Sarons goal came from a corner, the ball came in and partially saved by Craig Ransom in goal but the defenders just stood and looked at the ball instead of clearing it & in came one of sarons players and smashed it into the back of the net. In fairness to the keeper if he could have got his hands to the shot he could never have saved it because it was hit with so much force. In the second half again there was some lovely football played by both sides but if it wasn,t for some very good goalkeeping from the saron keeper Cimla could have scored four or five. The wining goal came from a superb solo effort from Adam Bray who took the ball in his own half run through three Saron players and shot the ball into the top right hand corner. The sportsmanship of both teams was very commendable and I am very pleased and honoured to be manager of these kids.
