Under 10's Match Report
Cimla Rovers entertained a much improved Penrhos side at Cefn Saeson and straight from kick set an attacking pattern of play that continued throughout the match. The lads seemed to be in the right frame of mind as chances were created thick and fast, the game developed into Cimla versus the Penrhos keeper who was in fine form. Mid way through the first half the game was turned on its head as Penrhos managed to break free from the relentless pressure and swept up field, sticking the ball into the bottom corner to take the lead against the run of play. This seemed to spur Cimla on as they had chance after chance but could find no way to beat the keeper. Cimla should of equalised on several occasions, Nathan Lazda hit the bar from close range and another powerful shot was saved by the keeper diving to his left, the rebound fell to the feet of a Cimla attacker for a simple 4 yard tap in only for the keeper to miraculously spring back across goal to turn it around his right hand post. In the closing stages with Cimla on all out attack, another break away saw the solitary defender swamped by three Penrhos players and the game was finished off with their second goal of the match. For Cimla Rhys Payne was solid as a rock in defence and charged forward with the ball countless times causing panic in the opposition. The Penrhos keeper should be applauded for his display which was as good as anything seen at this age group.
Final Score Cimla Rovers 0 - Penrhos 2
